The Raft

The Raft is Perth’s new open-air floating entertainment venue, permanently moored on the Swan River with city views and private access via tender vessel. The floating venue needed a reliable security system that could withstand the nature of the application. They chose Access 1 Security Systems to provide the solution.

The Raft is an iconic open-air floating event space permanently moored on the Swan River in Perth, WA. The 250-patron capacity venue features a spacious open deck with custom designed furniture, a deep ocean tiled bar and sand stone bench tops reflecting WA’s coastal landscape. The venue required a security solution which would secure The Raft across 3 areas including; the external perimeter, internal deck area and internal office and plant areas.

Access 1 Security Systems, directed by Andrew Herrmann, designed the system alongside lead technician, Angelo Sanginiti. The complex nature of the application located in water without permanent power and cabling access meant Access 1 Security Systems had to ensure the security solution was fit for all weather conditions, whilst also meeting the aesthetic requirements of The Raft.

The alarm system installed was a Bosch Solution 6000 alarm and access control system, featuring dual end of line tampers on each zone. Bosch OD850 external sensors were also installed on the main decking areas of The Raft, with Bosch Professional Series Tritech motion detectors in the main office areas. Reed switches were fitted to external doors.

The Bosch Solution 6000 was chosen as it satisfied all the requirements of The Raft’s unique application, with access control, alarm and reporting features. It was chosen due to its quality and finish, and easy application of use for the client. Due to the location of The Raft being permanently on water, the Bosch Solution 6000 was an accommodating choice as it can be controlled and managed remotely through the Bosch MyAlarm app.
